Members Travel to Tanzania with NE Synod
NE Synod trip to Tanzania, Feb 7 to 22, 2011
Four Lord of Love members and former interim Pastor Bob Oleson participated in the Winter 2011 Nebraska Synod trip to Tanzania. Participants are being hosted by the Northern Diocese of the ELCA in Tanzania. During their visit they visited churches, hospitals, schools, health centers, and ministry sites at local villages. They had the wonderful opportunity to share in worship!
Lord of Love contributed funds to build two homes in the “Houses for Health” program developed by Lord of Love member and missionary, Bob Kasworm. Our members planned to visit some of the houses built by this program and to talk with the families that live in them.
Our members also hoped to arrange an opportunity to meet Mrs. Maimu, widow of the late Pastor Elisante Maimu who participated in a pastor exchange with Lord of Love several years ago. Lord of Love members will present Mrs. Maimu with a prayer shawl. Lord of Love is also providing financial support for the high school education of Maimu family members and two other students.
