Lord of Love Lutheran Church ELCA – Omaha, NE

Dear Lord of Love,

            On August 2, I began my internship year at Bethel Lutheran Church and Lutheran Campus Ministries in St. Louis, Missouri.  Aside from the hot & humid weather (which isn’t really all that different from Omaha in the summertime!), I am enjoying the city.  The congregation provides me with an apartment that is about one mile from the church/campus ministry house.  School at Washington University and St. Louis University (the two campuses on which we focus our ministry) hasn’t started yet, but I’m already getting involved in the planning of Bible studies for both campuses, and candlelight worship on Sunday nights will start the last week of August, with me preaching!  My involvement at Bethel will primarily be the two worship services and educational hour on Sunday mornings, but I have already had the opportunity to sit in on a pre-marital counseling session and to serve as assisting minister at a memorial service.  My two supervisors, Pr. Yancey & Pr. Rebecca, are great to work with and want to make sure that I feel prepared for all aspects of ministry.  I look forward to the months ahead and will be sure to keep you updated!  Personally, as I’m sure many of you heard, Rich & I got engaged about three weeks ago, so I am looking forward to the many adventures married life will bring, also!  We plan to be married in June or July of 2010 in Chicago.  Thank you for your prayers of encouragement & support.
