The Christmas season begins with Advent and continues through the celebration of our Savior’s birth until Epiphany.
During Advent we gather to worship and anticipate the coming of our Lord Jesus.
At Christmas we praise God for the gift of His son, Jesus.
Midweek Advent Services – We wait and prepare for the birth of Jesus through our quiet Holden Evening Prayer services.
Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. – November 30, December 7, December 14, December 21
This year, our theme focuses on hope. We are guided by the words of “Lord of all Hopefulness”.
Christmas Services – Come and celebrate the birth of Jesus!
December 24 – Christmas Eve service at 4:30 p.m.
December 24 – Christmas Eve candlelight service at 11:00 p.m. Gathering music begins at 10:30 p.m.
December 25 – Christmas Day worship at 10:00 a.m. This is a service of readings and carols with congregation members choosing the hymns to be sung.
January 1 – New Year’s Day worship at 10:00 a.m. The usual Sunday worship service as we continue to celebrate the Christmas season.
Special Events –
Cookie Tin Preparation
Saturday, December 10 – 9:00 a.m. – Preparation of “goodie” containers for those who need some extra love this season. Please bring 2 dozen cookies.
Saturday, December 10 – 9:30 a.m. – Help make fleece blankets for “Project Linus”. Their mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need. Each blanket needs 2 pieces of 2 yards by 60 inches coordinating fleece.
Chili and caroling with the choir!
Sunday, December 11 – 11:30 a.m. – Anyone with a voice to sing praises to the newborn king is welcome to join in on the chili dinner and caroling. Bring some chili to put into the roaster and/or something to share that goes with chili. We organize into two groups to carol to congregation members and others who are in need of Christmas cheer.
