The Christmas season begins with Advent and continues through the celebration of our Savior’s birth until Epiphany.
During Advent we gather virtually to worship and anticipate the coming of our Lord Jesus.
At Christmas we praise God for the gift of His son, Jesus.
Midweek Advent Services, Wednesdays Dec 2, 9, 16, 23
This year we will NOT gather in-person on Wednesday nights during Advent. Instead, each Wednesday we will offer an online Midweek Holden Evening Prayer Service. Check out the Lord of Love YouTube channel for these videos.
“Tidings of Comfort and Joy” is our midweek theme. Each week we give voice to the complex situations and emotions with which we greet the coming Messiah by using the reactions of those who first received the news
of Jesus birth (Zechariah, Joseph, Mary, and the shepherds).
Our weekly themes:
Dec 2: The Angel Speaks to Zechariah’s Fear
Dec 9: The Angel Speaks to Joseph’s Confusion
Dec 16: The Angel Speaks to Mary’s Doubt
Dec 23: The Angel Speaks to the Shepherd’s Curiosity
Christmas Eve Worship, Thursday, Dec 24
This online worship service will be available on the Lord of Love YouTube channel.
Advent and Christmas Special Offerings
Each season we provide opportunities to give in support of mission. Our Advent and Christmas special offerings will be split between Lutheran Disaster Response and the Foodbank for the Heartland. Together with our Thanksgiving offerings, we can make a difference in the lives of many affected by disaster and food insecurities throughout the world and in our community. Thank you for considering a seasonal gift. Mail a check to the church or give through Give Plus+ online or via your smartphone app.
