Lord of Love Lutheran Church was founded in June 1972 by a group of people from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church (30th and Izard Streets).  A group chose a site “way out west” of Omaha to build a new church.

The youth group suggested the name, “Lord of Love” from the song Pass It On.

Lord of Love, at 105th and Fort Streets, is no longer “way out west” — but it is still striving to be a beacon on the hill, bringing the light of Christ to our neighbors in the northwest part of Omaha.

Lively worship and fellowship, a good sense of humor and gratitude for God’s grace are hallmarks of Lord of Love Lutheran Church.

A painting of colorful tiles with a brown cross and branches in the shape of a heart at the center. The text at the bottom reads, "Rooted & Grounded in Love."
For our 50th anniversary celebration in 2022, we chose the theme, “Rooted and Grounded in Love.”
This artwork to commemorate the occasion is by Audra VanArsdale.
